Believe in Yourself in Order to Quit Smoking

When one fine day you finally decide that you should quit smoking, there are various tips that can really help you to stop smoking permanently if you follow them. Life would be wonderful if people could quit smoking as and when they wanted to.

But since that cannot be done, certain procedures need to be followed.

First tip:

Make a list of the various reasons as to why you feel like smoking. This will be small. Then make a list of the various reasons as to why you wish to quit smoking. This list will obviously be quite long. These two lists should always be kept with you.

Second tip:

For each reason that you feel is valid for leaving smoking, write them down in a paper, which should be about the length of a cigarette (3 inches). Make a roll of it and place it inside an empty pack of cigarettes that is your favorite. Make at least 15 of such rolls in all inside that packet. Thus what happens is that each time you take out a paper you find there is only a reason not to smoke, not a real cigarette.

Third tip:

Make yourself believe that the very next cigarette you try to smoke will lead you to lung cancer. You will find that cigarettes will not look so attractive to you any more. In fact they will look dangerous.
Fourth tip:

Try to buy products that will help you out with quitting to smoke. There are lots of such products that are available in the market.

Fifth tip:

Once you quit smoking, it might lead you to certain problems that are the result of sudden withdrawal. Never let such symptoms go back to the previous stage of smoking. These are natural and very soon you will be able to recover from them.

Sixth tip:

Do not ever try to use things like nicotine replacement therapy. In no way can you recover if you try to get rid of nicotine by introducing an equally bad chemical into your system. You have to overcome it in the natural way.

Seventh tip:

You should understand that unless you want to quit smoking you would never be able to do so. You should have a separate strong mindset to overcome the pressure. You should learn to motivate yourself and explain yourself that you should quit smoking seriously.

Eighth tip:

You should be extremely careful with your food habit. You might be in the practice of smoking in between meals. So it might so happen that while trying to quit smoking you end up eating in between meals to compensate for the smoking. This will only increase your fat. Do not continue to do this. This might be harmful. Drink lots of fruit juice. Later avoid sugary drinks.

Ninth tip:

Never even think about smoking again. If you feel that you are missing something important in life by not smoking, then it would be a torture.

Tenth tip:

Have confidence in yourself and believe that you can do it.
