Giving Proper Care to Copper Vessel Sinks

Vessel sinks have become the latest trend and are being used in all the modern styled bathrooms. One of the most stylish and beautiful type of these sinks are the copper sinks. But, copper is a metal which is easily affected by other elements. Therefore, proper care and maintenance has to be given to the sink to ensure that the life and gleam of the sink is maintained. There are several maintenance techniques which can be followed regardless of the copper sink and the type of finish there is on it.

Copper vessel sinks should be cleaned regularly with using water and mild soap mixture. One should always use a soft cloth while cleaning the sink. Also, one shouldn't use any harsh chemicals on the copper sink as they can erode the copper metal. Similarly, using scouring pads should be avoided as they can cause unwanted scratches on the metal. After thoroughly cleaning the copper metal, one should completely rinse the sink to remove any soap as this can leave undesired film on copper. The soft cloth should be used again to dry the metal.

Also, one should be aware of the things which they place or use on the copper sink as certain products can tarnish the metal and leave a white or green colour on the vessel sinks. Also, products containing acid shouldn't be used or placed around the sink as acid cause discoloration and eat away the metal. Many think that rinsing the sink after using acid can restore the quality, but this can cause staining which is irreversible in many cases.
