With the holiday season coming and the never ending parties make the holidays even more special. Meeting friends and family; having lots of food and drinks. All this is so much fun, but the fun can be over in a second if we fall sick. Winters can be beautiful with the snow fall, but with the cold comes the flu and cough. Eating so much food before the actual celebrations can be very hard on your stomach as well. There can be nothing worse than falling sick during the holidays. Your health and fitness not only affects you but also everyone close to you.
So here are a few remedies you can try at home to keep the flu and stomach problems at bay.
Cold & Cough
1. Have lots of Vitamin C before you actually catch cold. Have lemon juice, orange juices etc to keep the flu away.
2. For a blocked nose or sinus, try steam inhaling. It will not only help with your nose congestion but also clear your sinus. For a much effective result you could you’re a little menthol based balm in your hot water.
3. Another remedy is to have a hot cup of tea with either a little ginger paste or black pepper and honey.
4. For sore throat try lemon juice with honey. Have this mixture throughout the day.
5. You can also have a teaspoon of cinnamon with equal quantity of honey.
6. Gargle is very effective for a sore throat. And when done with a teaspoon of salt in it, it works wonders.
Stomach Problems
1. For relief form stomach pain try a hot water bottle. It helps in stomach cramps and pains.
2. If the stomach problem is due to acidity, try having some carbonated drinks. They help release the acids. You can also have half a cup of cold mink.
3. Another remedy for acidity is having a cup of hot lemon or mint tea.
4. Stomach problem can be due to any cause. Mostly it is what you ate. So when suffering from stomach pain pay attention to your diet. Stick to light and healthy food, which is easy to digest.
5. Drink plenty of water but one sip at a time.
6. Bananas help when you have an upset stomach. It is an amazing fruit. It helps in diarrhea as well as constipation.
These simple yet effective techniques will help you not only throught the holiday season but also the entire year!
