Global Warming:
Global warming is a major issue that the world is facing nowadays. The term itself signifies an increase in atmospheric temperature near surface of earth that is caused by different reasons. Scientists are of opinion that rise in CO2 levels will aggravate the case further. Greenhouse effect causes heat of earth to be trapped in atmosphere that results in temperature increase. Global warming this has caused a change in climate of earth causing the temperatures to go up. A warm earth on other hand causes changes in rainfall patterns and thereby affects plants, humans and also animals.Ozone Depletion:
Ozone depletion means decline of ozone quantity in stratosphere of earth. Ozone loss in lower stratosphere was recorded first in Antarctica in 1970s. The atmosphere of earth is composed of several layers and ozone forms layer in stratosphere. CFCs are used in the aerosol sprays and also air conditioners. These add up to ozone depletion when released to atmosphere. Ozone hole in Antarctic is primarily caused because of CFCs. Because of ozone depletion, people are faced with different problems like harmful effects of ultra violet rays which affect plants and other animal species.Pollution:
Pollution is one of the main environmental issues that people are facing nowadays. Noise and air pollution are increasing at alarming rate in today's world. Air pollution takes place with addition of several harmful chemicals in the atmosphere of the earth. The main pollutants which cause same are CFCs, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides. Water pollution is caused by wastes released in water. Soil can also be contaminated because of different industrial activities. Noise pollution is one of the current environmental issues which causes harm in different ways.Natural Resources Loss:
With population increase, one can see natural resources loss. This is caused because of different human activities. Several reasons are there which cause natural resources loss. This affects ecosystems in turn. Activities like overfishing have caused different species to be on edge of extinction. The trees in forests are being cut down to meet rising demands for need of wood, paper or for land. Fossil fuels burning and mining have led to resources depletion.So, these are some environmental issues of present times that the world is facing. With an effort from every individual, we can only look forward to save the planet from getting destroyed.
