Mahindra Xuv 500 Review

Mahindra & Mahindra, the country's largest SUV and MPV car maker, has finallay dived in the premium SUV car segment with launch of Mahindra XUV 500 on 28th September, 2011. Mahindra SUV 500 is the first premium SUV from Mahindra's stable that will also be launched on global stage so, it is the global SUV car model that first offered to the Indian customers in competitive price range. Right now, this popular Mahindra SUV is willing good response to the customers and over 80000 units have been booked.

The all new Mahindra XUV 500 is available in both the 4x2 and 4x4 wheel drive options which increase the customers choice. The available Mahindra XUV 500 variants the three like W6, W8 (4x2 wheel drive) and W8 (4x4 wheel drive). The company has offered this popular premium SUV to the customers in competitive and affordable price range which attract everybody. Mahindra XUV 500 price starts at Rs. 10.80 lakh while top-end model is available at Rs. 12.88 lakh at ex-showroom. The mid W8 variant of the SUV has price tag of Rs. 11.95 lakh at Ex-showroom Delhi.

Mahindra XUV 500 is available on in diesel engine model which is most fuel efficient. This diesel model of the car has a powerful 2179 cc, 2.2L, mHawk VGT diesel mill under cap that belts out maximum power of 140 bhp at 3750 rpm and peak torque of 330 Nm at 1600~2800 rpm. The powerplant is mated with a 6 speed manual transmission while an automatic version is in the making. Mahihdra XUV 500 mileage in city areas is 11.5 kmpl while the SUV delivers impressive mileage of 15.1 kmpl on long roads as per ARAI certificates.

Mahindra XUV 500 features and specifications proving it major competitor of Tata Aria which also is available in both the 4x2 and 4x4 wheel drive variants.
