Polystyrene generally has a R value of 3-4 per inch, polyurethane has 7-8 per inch while polyiso has 5-8 per inch. Different materials have different level of thermal resistance and rigidity. Experts can make a better selection in this case. To get the maximum benefit of foam insulation, only experts should be hired to accomplish the task.

If done properly foam insulation can give maximum result to the homeowner. But lack of professionalism or improper implementation will only add on to the problem. Foam insulation can dramatically reduce the energy bills. It will overall enhance the ambience of the house make it cozy and pleasant. Noise reduction is an additional advantage. One has to abide to the local building rules and guidelines before working it out. Special measures need to be taken if the conditions are damp or moisture laden.
