Types Of Deck Cranes

A general definition of a deck crane says that it is used for loading and unloading cargo. Mostly builders of yacht prefer the series of hydraulic deck cranes. There are different types of series available for yacht deck cranes. Within all these, the most popular deck crane series is EZ. The yacht builders, who build yacht of the range between 100- to 350- feet, undoubtedly prefer EZ series of a hydraulic deck crane.

All EZ type crane systems are constructed from aluminum for maximum weight efficiency. The feature of a non-fouling hydraulic linear winch system gives the ability to be operated at full capacity in boom position. All EZ type crane systems have capacity to carry weight with the range of 1134 Kg to 6804 Kg. There are different types of Deck Crane Systems available.

Mono Boom Type Crane Systems:
EZ-Systems Hydraulic Deck Crane has proven to provide the highest state-of-the-art yacht crane technology in an aesthetically pleasing mono-boom design. This type of Deck Crane System has lifting capacity up to about 6500 Kg. and in working boom length starts from 14- feet that can be extended up to 30- feet. The EZ-Systems Crane is typically powered by a hydraulic power unit, available in various horsepower configurations, or may be configured to take power from the ship’s central hydraulic system.

Telescoping Boom Crane Systems:
The EZ-Systems Boom Extending design of telescoping boom crane provides the efficiency of a compact stowed length with the utility and versatility of variable boom-lengths. The boom is capable of being loaded to its full safe working load capacity in any position without restriction. Moreover, The crane's telescoping boom extension incorporates a mounting socket for attaching the removable light-bar, mounting the navigation and anchor lights. The unique design allows the lights t be easily serviced, or even removed when not needed.

Lay-Down Crane Type:
Generally the Lay-Down cranes are designed in capacities from 2200-pounds to 8800-pounds (1000-Kg to 4000-Kg), with and without hydraulic telescoping boom sections. This crane design maximizes available deck length for stowage while stowing in less than 40” (1.0-m) height to ensure integration or concealment behind standard bulwark heights. The aluminum structure is chromate and then primed with a two-part epoxy primer. The system is faired smooth, and then primed again. The crane is hand sanded, then moved into our heated finish booth where it is coated with a two-part Awl GRIP urethane spray-applied paint finish in a color of white.

Knuckle Boom Cranes:
The EZ-Knuckle-Boom Cranes articulating aluminum boom is capable of being loaded to its full safe working load capacity in any position without restriction. The feature Hydraulic Linear Winch system, a totally non-fouling winch design reflects the innovative and dependably safe operating characteristics built into the extending boom, adds the additional element of operational safety as the winch travels with the boom during operation of the crane which prevents any possibility of two-blocking the system causing damage to the cable. The crane is hand sanded, then moved into our heated finish booth where it is coated with a two-part Awl GRIP urethane spray-applied paint finish in a color to match your vessel.

Folding Cranes System:
The Folding Cranes system elevates and unfolds into a more conventional davit shape. It features a telescoping boom section to maximize the davit’s reach potential and is constructed entirely from aluminum. All hydraulics are concealed within the structure and finished in either a bright anodized or Awl GRIP paint. The Folding Cranes articulating aluminum boom is capable of being loaded to its full safe working load capacity in any position without restriction.
