Pregnancy Week by Week

Pregnancy weak by weak answers some of your queries related to your pregnancy. These points will surely answer some questions like morning sickness, your weight, body shape, what type of food you have to take, what type of tests you have to do and many more questions that arises in your mind.

Around the first week, the eggs fertilize into tiny speck that is similar to the size of a mulberry. By the end of the second week, this mulberry grows into an ‘embryo’. After four weeks of your pregnancy are completed, the cells go into an overdrive of multiplying and dividing. There are cluster of cells that must have lost their round appearance and have changed into more elongated appearance.

At week 5 of your pregnancy, there would be no change. In the sixth week, a trans-vaginal scan does reveal your baby’s ‘embryonic’ heartbeat. During your 7 and 8 week, your embryo looks more like a human and by the end of 9 week, it starts moving in your womb. By week 10 and 11, the movements become more definite. The next few weeks are crucial for the fetus because at this time, embryo’s limbs develop. By the end of 14th week the baby’s body is more in shape. Few days after 14th week, movements of the fetus develop further and by the end of the 17th week it can also dream.

During the 18th week, the skin of the baby starts developing; ears develop by the end of the 19th week. By the end of the 22 weeks, fetus would be able to respond to the external sounds and with the end of 26th week, the baby will be ‘pounding’ inside you. At this time, baby’s head also develops as compared to the rest of its body. By the end of 30th week, the baby’s head lies down. Around the 37th week, baby’s head is in the pelvic region and by the 40th week it is ready to be born.

This is a complete journey of pregnancy and is very exciting for those women who are pregnant. During your pregnancy have a balanced diet, proper rest, do regular exercise and take proper care of yourself and your baby that will help in normal delivery and a cute little baby.
