Ged Test Study Guide: “how To Guess The Correct Answer On Your Ged Test

You’ve got two options when taking the GED test.

You can go for the traditional pencil-and-paper type of exam…

…Or you can opt to take an online GED test.

If you take the pencil-and paper type of GED exam, then you’re in luck. Take a look at any GED test study guide and you’ll encounter tips on how to take the exam. Most of these study guides adhere to the following formula:

•Answer the easier questions first, the harder ones later.

•Once you’ve answered all the easy questions, go back to the difficult questions. Try eliminating choices that are obviously wrong. Choose the answer that makes the most sense.

•If you encounter a question that is just too difficult for you, try guessing the correct answer. Guessing will give you a chance at getting the right answer. On the other hand, not answering the difficult question is a sure way to lose a point.

If you’ve read any GED test study guide, you’re already familiar with the things above.
But what if you plan on taking the online GED test? In this case, you’re in for a bumpy ride. The online exam is different from the pencil-and paper type of GED test. The formula mentioned above may not work on the online GED test.

A GED Test Dilemma

One of the things you absolutely can’t do is skipping around the test. You just can’t move on to the next question if you encounter a difficult one. In the online GED test, you need to answer the current question before you can proceed. This means you can’t skip a touch question with the intention of going back to it later.

If you face this online GED test dilemma, what’s the best thing for you to do? Are you going to risk wasting too much time to figure out the correct answer? Or will you just try to guess the correct answer?

Actually, you shouldn’t do any of these things!

Instead, use these tips and techniques to solve your online GED test dilemma.

•If you come across a very tough GED question, don’t panic. Instead, try your best to come up with a calculated guess. Guesstimating can help you answer the question if done right. Here’s a great GED test study guide that you can use to help answer the difficult question. More often than not, the longest answer is the right answer.

•The usual format for the online GED test offers you four answer choices. Keep an eye for obviously wrong choices. There are times you’ll encounter choices that are just that. In this case, eliminate them right away. You’ll be left with two choices and a 50 percent chance of getting the right answer.

•What if after doing everything you still aren’t sure of the right answer? Do you think you’re on a dead end? Not quite. Here’s another GED test study guide to help you: If you went with choice C in one difficult question, do the same for another difficult question. Only avoid doing this if option C is obviously wrong.
