The main trick behind successful and stress-free travelling is planning ahead. Always think of the various contingencies that you might face while travelling and do not wait for them to happen, just do something to avoid them. What will you do if your luggage is lost? What if you forget your blue pumps? Being proactive will reduce the possibility of a serious crisis occurring during your trip.
Travel means not to break the bank. First decide exactly how much you can afford, and then make your plans accordingly. You should talk to your travel agents and make your arrangements beforehand because making arrangements in the last moment always costs more. Also you may get seasonal discounts, special offers, etc. You can find some great bargains in package deals that combine hotel and airfare at a discounted rate.
If you cannot really make your travel plan come within your budget, consider compromising on lower priority expenses in exchange for the higher priority ones. Consider staying in a budget hotel where you can eat out. Decide which are the things that you can avoid and things that you cannot miss. Go for the priority ones.
Pack your own things properly before going for a travel. You are already out of your house, may be about to reach the place and suddenly you realize that you have forgotten you toothbrush, toothpaste, shoes or bathing suit? You have forgotten to take your credit card? And sometimes, you might forget an item that isn\'t so easily replaced. This really creates a problem. So if you want to plan a travel, make a list of all the things that you might need for that particular trip and tick each of them as you put them into your bag.
If you are planning to do any shopping while travelling, you should carry some kind of extra bag with you for carrying your purchases home. Put your filled suitcase inside a slightly larger empty one -- or, get a collapsible tote that will take up very little space in your bag. But the easiest option when you purchase something (although perhaps not the cheapest) is to have each store ship your treasures directly to your home. This is a very good option available if you have purchased a huge or a bulky article and you need to return by flight and flights do not let you carry articles beyond a certain weight. Each bag you have to lug around limits your transportation options. Heavy suitcases mean cabs and porters and inconvenience and fatigue -- while a light suitcase equals.
Be careful and protect your belongings when you go for a travel. Write
your name and phone numbers on your luggage and be sure to keep an eye
on them whenever possible. Lock them properly if the contain any
valuables and do not forget where you keep the keys.
Finally, be sure to have a point of contact at home -- someone who knows where you are and how to reach you. Make sure to give this person any information that could be important in the event of an emergency -- the phone number and address where you are staying, the code to your alarm system, your doctor\'s name, etc. It will ease your mind to know that you can be contacted if something goes wrong at home -- and that you have someone who can act on your behalf if something goes awry on your end.
